Water Heater Repair
No hot water? We diagnose and fix water heater faults the same day — send a photo first.
An overflowing toilet makes a mess quickly. Water may spill from the pan, run from the cistern or continue entering the bowl after a flush. Stop flushing, keep clear of the water and contact us so we can work out what is happening.
We have a 5.0-star rating from 26 Google reviews.
Do not flush again. If the water is rising in the bowl, close the toilet’s local isolation valve if it is accessible and turns without force. If you cannot find it, do not dismantle the cistern; keep people away from the affected area and tell us what you can see.
Water on the floor can reach nearby cupboards or the ceiling below. Move belongings out of the way and use towels to contain the spread, provided it is safe to do so. Avoid touching electrical equipment or sockets near water. A photo or video from a dry, safe position can help us understand whether the water is coming from the bowl or cistern.
If the bowl rises after a flush and drains slowly, the blockage may be downstream. If water keeps entering the bowl from the cistern, the filling or flush mechanism may not be stopping as it should. Water escaping from the cistern itself points to another possible source.
These signs help us prepare, but they do not confirm the cause on their own. Tell us whether the toilet overflowed during a flush, continued afterwards or began without being used. That detail can save time when we assess the problem.
We identify where the water is coming from, then explain the repair before starting. Photos or video can help us prepare and check which parts may be needed. Where a part is required, we buy it before travelling when possible, and we agree the price up front.
We work with bathroom and toilet fittings including Roca, Grohe, Puya, Proinco and Fontia. Once the work is complete, we explain what was repaired and what to watch for. If the underlying issue is a leak at the base or a general fault, you can also read about toilet leak repair and toilet repair and installation.
Call when the water will not stop rising, the cistern continues to refill, or you cannot contain the spill safely. If the water has stopped but the toilet is still behaving unusually, explain what happened and whether it started during a flush. We usually reply to WhatsApp messages in about 10 minutes.
We will send an ETA update while travelling. If you have turned off the local valve, let us know; do not turn it back on to test the toilet before we have discussed it.
The cost depends on whether the problem is in the cistern, the pan or the pipework, along with any parts needed. We agree the price before starting work. For further information, see our pricing page.
Send a short message describing where the water is coming from and whether it is still flowing. A photo or video is useful only if you can take it from a safe, dry position. We will discuss the next step and update you about our arrival time.
No. Stop flushing while it is overflowing. Another flush can add water to the bowl or trigger the problem again.
Use the local isolation valve if you can reach it and it turns easily. Do not force a stiff valve or remove the cistern lid if you are unsure.
A video may help distinguish water entering the bowl from water escaping elsewhere. We may still need to inspect the toilet before confirming the fault.
Work we carry out has a 1-year warranty. We will explain how it applies to the agreed work.
FAQ
Lift the lid off the cistern and lift the float arm, or turn the isolation valve behind the toilet. That stops the feed. Then send Greg a photo on WhatsApp of the inside of the cistern; a constant overflow is nearly always a fill valve that has stopped shutting off properly.
Because the valve is not the only possible cause. A fill valve set too high, a stuck float, or a seal that has scaled up will all do it, and resetting only postpones it. Greg carries replacement fill valves in the van, so it is usually a same-visit fix rather than a temporary one.
Yes, and it is worth knowing which before anyone quotes. If water trickles continuously into the bowl rather than overflowing the cistern, that is the flush valve seat rather than the fill valve. Send a short video showing both the cistern and the bowl, and Greg will tell you which it is.
