Why do water heaters fail on the Costa del Sol?

Limescale settles in the bottom of the tank over time, and it shortens the life of the heating element. That’s why we ask how old the unit is and whether it has ever been descaled before we recommend a repair. Thermostats are the other common weak point. When one sticks, the water stays cold or runs too hot, and the heater can trip the breaker. It’s a simple fault to describe in a message, and a photo of the unit usually tells us enough to give you a realistic price before anyone travels.

Should I call now or can it wait?

Cold water on its own can often wait a few hours. Water running down the side of the tank, or a heater that trips the electrics, shouldn’t.
